Privacy Policy
This site (riccardopisano.com) is operated by Riccardo Pisano. This policy explains what the site collects, how it's used, and which third parties are involved. I keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site and reply to you.
Information I collect
When you use the contact or blueprint form. If you send a message through the "Email me" form, I collect the email address, subject, and message you provide. If you request the GTM Machine blueprint, I collect the email address you enter so I can send you the document. Submissions are processed by Netlify (the site's host) and delivered to my inbox.
When you book a call. The booking popup is an embedded Cal.com scheduler. If you book, Cal.com collects your name, email, chosen time, and anything you add to the booking, and it creates a calendar event and a Google Meet link. That information is handled under Cal.com's and Google's own privacy policies.
Automatic technical data. Like most websites, the host (Netlify) may log standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, for security and operations.
Theme preference. The site remembers your light or dark choice using your browser's local storage. This stays on your device and is not sent to me.
Referral and attribution. When you arrive from a link (a search result, a social post, an email, or an ad), the site stores in your own browser which link it was, and a random ID that is not tied to your name or email. This is a first-party cookie plus local storage: nothing is sent to a third party, and it exists so that if you later book a call I can tell which channel brought you, rather than guessing. It expires after 90 days, and clearing your browser data removes it. Links I send in messages can carry a short code, for example ?ref=a7k2m, which tells me which message the link came from. When you book a call, your browser sends this same record, together with the booking's ID, to this site's own server, so the booking can be matched to the link you arrived from. It is not shared with anyone else.
Analytics. I use Umami Analytics to see aggregate traffic, such as which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from. Umami is privacy-focused and cookieless: it does not set cookies, does not store personal data, and does not track you across websites or devices. The numbers it produces are aggregated and cannot be used to identify you.
Visitor identification. This is a business site, and I use RB2B to identify some of the companies and professional contacts that visit it. RB2B matches technical signals from your visit against its own business database and may tell me the company you work for and, for some US visitors, your name, work email, and LinkedIn profile. It applies to US visitors only. I use this to understand who my work reaches and, occasionally, to follow up professionally. If you would rather not be identified this way, email me at rplabsllc@gmail.com and I will have your record removed and suppressed, or you can opt out directly with RB2B.
Audience demographics. The site uses the LinkedIn Insight Tag, which lets LinkedIn recognize visitors who are logged into LinkedIn and show me aggregate professional demographics of the site's audience, such as the industries, company sizes, and job titles of visitors as a group. I only ever see these numbers in aggregate; LinkedIn does not tell me who you are. LinkedIn receives technical data about your visit (such as IP address and the page URL) and handles it under its own privacy policy; LinkedIn members can control this via their LinkedIn ad settings.
Advertising. The site carries the Google tag, which lets me measure whether an ad I paid for led to a booking, and lets me show ads to people who visited the site before. Google may set cookies and receive technical data about your visit, including the page URL and your IP address, under its own privacy policy. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the tag runs in Google's restricted mode by default: it sets no advertising cookie and sends only anonymous measurement. You can turn off ad personalization for your Google account at any time in My Ad Center, and block or clear cookies in your browser.
Beyond the analytics, visitor identification, audience demographics and the Google tag described above, I do not use tracking pixels or cross-site trackers.
Third-party services
The site relies on a few providers, each with its own privacy policy: Netlify (hosting and form handling), Cal.com (call scheduling), Umami (privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics), RB2B (business visitor identification), LinkedIn (aggregate audience demographics via the Insight Tag), and Google (the Google tag for ad measurement and remarketing described above; the booking creates a Google Calendar event and Google Meet link; and embedded videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced no-cookie player, which loads only when you click play). Fonts are self-hosted, so no font request goes to a third party. When third-party content loads or you interact with it, those providers may receive your IP address and set their own cookies.
How I use your information
I use what you send to respond to your message, to schedule and hold our call, and to keep the site secure and working. I do not sell your information, and I do not share it except with the providers above as needed to operate the site.
Data retention
I keep contact messages and booking details for as long as needed to respond to you and for a reasonable period afterward, then delete them when they are no longer needed.
Your choices
You can ask me what information I hold about you, or ask me to delete it, including anything surfaced by the visitor identification described above, by emailing rplabsllc@gmail.com. You can also refuse or clear cookies in your browser, though some embedded features (like the booking scheduler) may not work fully without them.
Children
This site is intended for a professional audience and is not directed to children.
International visitors
The site and its providers are based in the United States. By using the site, you understand your information may be processed there.
Changes
I may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above will reflect any changes.
